Fitness and fashion goes hand in hand. No matter if you are traditional runway model slim or plus size delicious, all great outfits look best when you feel your best! I've recently gained weight, and I've felt terrible in all my clothes this winter. But in mid-February I began to go back to my healthy life-style. Through heathy food choices, exercise, and daily motivation I'm back on the right path. On December 27 I made a conscious decision to quit smoking cigarettes. Not many people knew I struggled with this stinking demon. I am three months cigarette free and I feel good about my decision. Do I still get the urge to smoke a cigarette? Yes, yes I do get an urge every once in awhile, but I remind myself of the journey to better health. I don't want to get off that path for one little cigarette. I have been strong for three months and each day I get stronger. As I make better eating choices, I decided to bring in an oldie but goodie. The water detox! It's the easiest way to help stay fit. I found a very cool and informative Instagram page with tasty ideas. Photo: Instagram @tradingincarbsforcompliments Once you start drinking your water like this, you will not want to go back! It's so refreshing and the benefits go a long way. For one, it aids in having a flat tummy. Helping to stimulate and regulate the digestive track. It also does wonders for your skin. The vitamin C in the lemon, enhances your skin from within. Leaving you with a healthy glow on your face. I am determined to look and feel good in my clothes. Watch me! Stay THRIFTY!

This week I wanted to add a little flavor to my outfits, so each day I wore lively prints. This helped to brighten my day, and to remind me spring is coming soon. Although I'm excited for spring, I am not happy for the rain. Although I can say I am super excited to ditch the winter coats! Anyhoo check out my threads from the week. This top has so much rhythm to me. When I saw it I knew it was perfect for me. I also thrifted an orange bustier to wear under the top on those warm spring days. In the picture I paired the top with all black, to let the top speak for itself. Ok not much flavor here but the emerald green top paired with the purple booties are great together! My fave of all is the necklace. I thrifted this necklace so long ago but it is still the perfect statement necklace. What a fun top or nah? This top is so comfy and easy to pair with a variety of bottoms. I love the accent of the sequins and the funky tribal print. The layering underneath is a fitted black tank dress paired with the gray jeggings. Last but not least, the floral print. The cropped floral blazer is perfect for the spring. I cannot wait until it gets warmer so I can pair the blazer with a cute little skater skirt. Stay THRIFTY! Spring is in the air! Well it's somewhere near. Hopefully the weather will stay consistently warm very soon. Until then, I will continue to add colorful pieces to my outfits each day, to remind me of better days ahead. Check me out! I have always loved this top! It is such a fun top for the spring. It has a classic pattern with a lose fit that allows it to be a timeless piece, not a trend. I paired the blouse with hunter green palazzo pants. Super comfy. I must say although I adore my cream and black toe-capped flats, which added comfort to the look, next time I will have to wear heels with these pair of palazzo pants. My pink oversize blazer is the perfect touch to add fun to the grey and black stripped dress. Paired with a gold link necklace, barley seen (matches the gold link bracelet), for flavor! I liked this look because of the colors. It reminds me of Easter for some odd reason. Maybe it's the yellow dress. The purple vintage oversized Express sweater is such a keeper. It's super comfy and a perfect go to work sweater. Stay THRIFTY! I must apologize for my mini sabbatical from the blog. I have taken on a new assignment as a coordinator and GED instructor at South Suburban College for their off-campus site in Riverdale, IL. So please, please be patient with me as I adjust to my new schedule. New spring items will be for sale on March 22! Stay THRIFTY... As my closet challenge came to an end, I realized I had too many clothes to even go through. I decide to don't my clothes to the South Suburban Family Shelter in Homewood, IL. When I donated the clothes they were so grateful that it made me feel really good on that beautiful day. She said other people came by to donate and she was happy she came into the office that day. What a wonderful feeling :)) Stay THRIFTY... I am getting closer to the end of my spring cleaning closet challenge as I close out on day 13. I had to save my fave and classic pieces. Starting with this oversized pink blazer. It is great for both the spring and the summer. I figured this was the perfect time to bring in a little color, since it's so cold again here in Chicago. I can't wait for the spring sunny days (not looking forward to the April showers). Next, the tribal print top is so cute to me and it is a trending print for this spring. Think I'll hold on to this belt for a little bit longer! hehehehe Stay THRIFTY! |
