The question of the hour is not for H&M but for the one who gave the child permission to be photographed. The young man’s parents. Surprisingly no one cares to ask the mom or dad WHY DID THEY ALLOW, as parents, THEIR CHILD TO BE PHOTOED in the verbally insensitive sweatshirt? As a culture we are so quick to “clap back” the moment opportunity presents itself. Without stepping back to look at the bigger picture. From what I heard, last night Oprah gave a great motivational speech at the Golden Globe Awards. Along with women and men standing in solidarity for the phrase (now hashtag), “Times Up.” You see half of the culture is missing the bigger picture. TIMES UP! The freak show of the white boy is over! Many of us are lost souls and will continue to be distracted on the physical level. Fighting up against words with complaints of injustice is as useless as a rat tooth comb on nigga hair. How long are we going to cry out to the white boy that he’s being unfair to us??? Do we not realize he DOES NOT and WILL NOT give any fucks! So if you want to say fuck’em, THEN FUCK’EM and move the hell along. You don’t ask your oppressor for freedom YOU TAKE IT! And tell’em to get the fuck out your face with the bullshit. I understand that our people are hurting but what I will not comprehend is the insanity of fighting the same way, with short results for over 50 years. Well you might say, “Oh, well, the old ways got us the Civil Rights Act of 1964.” Ok but whose living off the fat of our ancestors hard work and reaping the benefits? Every other person considered a minority in this country. The Civil Rights Act has nothing to do with the justice of the so-called black man and woman. It does not even mention us as a people. It simply states, “All persons shall be entitled to the full and equal enjoyment of the goods, services, facilities, and privileges, advantages, and accommodations of any place of public accommodation, as defined in this section, without discrimination or segregation on the ground of race, color, religion, or national origin.” If this document was for the justice of the so-called black man and woman it should say so. If it was for the so-called black man and woman, then why are we still fighting for justice. Why does a transgendered person or non-black homosexual feel more connected and supported by the Civil Rights Act than the so-called black man and woman, who physically fought for its fruition? Because the document is not for us. And until we realize who we are, the so-called black man and woman will struggle in America. Not all of us will struggle, as many of us are stepping into our true awakening. We are shedding the illusions of the “white boy.” We are taking dominion over Self and reclaiming our Godhood from which we lost in disobedience. Time Is Up. But if you want to stay sleep and fight the white boy on this physical plane alone, I pity you. For you are missing out on what life is truly about on this plane.
New Year's Day AYEeeeeeee! Well I am happy to be alive once again on another beautiful day. Some would say in the land of the living. I care to differ. Although, today is a day to celebrate a new year and new beginnings, everything is the same all around us. Smack dap in the middle of winter. A deadly time of year. Well for mother, Mother Earth, I suppose. It's winter and the ground is cold, no life. No new life is coming for a few months from now. So why don't we celebrate the New Year when the earth has more life?
Why do we call it a New Year if parts of the earth is dead and cold? I don't know. I'm sure we have all learned some wonderful scientific or historical theory about the shit but I'm not buying whatever's being sold so I don't know. However, I do believe we all in some kind of a way need a reset button. A flip of a calendar to say,, "New Day, New Beginning." I respect it. I'm just not going to buy into the extra that does not serve me and my uní-verse.
Let's not front like I have not spent money on outfits, clubs, hotels, parties, drinks and whatever else I needed to celebrate many New Years past. However, right in this moment of my life that same lifestyle does not fit my current lifestyle. Not only do I respect man' s calendar, I respect the laws and calendar of nature. I pay attention to the flow of the moon. The call of the trees and the vibes of nature's creatures. I am learning when to plant into the physical earth and into my unseen, my mental. I enjoy the balance of the two and continue to work moment by moment to keep balance in my real everyday life.
Well I've gone on rambling more than enough. I'll spare the details and get to the point. Make sure however you spend your time for the new calendar year, use it wisely, spend it on yourself. Whatever you do, however you do it make it count.
"Do you remember? The 21st night of September..." Oh yes! It's that time of year again when the melody of our beloved Earth, Wind and Fire rings a special place in our heart. The beauty of the leaves changing color and beginning to fall from the trees captures our attention. While the sounds of school bells ringing and the feel of a cool breeze on sunny days, reminds us that my favorite season is here, AUTUMN! I love everything about this time of year. The apple cider, pumpkin patches, Halloween, my son's birthday (side note), and the FASHION!!! Yes! The fashion.
This year I have not followed one trend. I don't know if it's the busy schedule of being a new mom or my own personal transformations but I am not abreast to the latest fashion trends. Although I do and will always love fashion and my style. The key factors to great style are effortless and timeless pieces. Therefore always keep classic pieces and outfits in your wardrobe for each season. So if you can't or decide not to shop the trend you will always be your own classic trend.
Now let's talk about this fall season!
My top favorite part of fall fashion is the layering. While others are sad that summer is ending, I'm doing back flips at the first sign of cooler days ahead. I love layering because it keeps the eye busy. Always discovering a new element to the outfit. Which leads me to my next two favorite parts of fall fashion, leather and suede. These staple pieces are essential to my cool, relaxed, layered fall outfit. And when I say leather and suede I mean in all forms and styles. From a hat to a jacket to a skirt, pants or even shorts! All is fair in the game of dope fall layering.
Next, I can rarely go wrong with a chunky sweater. Add some hoop earrings and a statement bracelet or necklace and this look takes care of it self. The chunky sweater with a long sleeve top can be a great combination for cool fall days. Makes me want to curl up to a cup of warm apple cider and a good book!
Last, but not least I love me a good fall boot. Oh yes! Leather or suede, heels or flats, short or high, it does not matter. I love them all. The best part of fall boots is not worrying if they will get damaged by mounds of snow and slushy water. You just wear them and remain cute. They draw the right attention to any outfit and can be a convenient statement piece.
That's all I have for this fall fashion. May all the beautiful autumn babies have a blessed and blissful birthday!
Peace and Light
My journey to SELF has lead me back to my daily meditation. Some how going through the trials of life I let go of my priorities. Number one being meditation. Mediation for me is equivalent to prayer. I'm not a prayer. It's not that I have never prayed or don't believe prayer has significance. I just enjoy the calmness in my mind. When my mind is calm I feel clarity in my decisions. Our Creator created us with all the tools and skills we needed on this plane. So I feel it is my duty to have a clear mind to access the tools and skills I already possess to solve my problems.
Whenever I have been away from my daily meditation, I like to start with five minutes. It can be five minutes a day or several times a day. The goal is to do what works best for that day. Gradually I work myself up to more time as needed. Some people do not like meditation. Some feel it's idol time for the devil to wreck havoc in your mind. However, to that I would say, if your mind is never clear or calm, how can you ever hear God?
Fuck it! I'm a God...
