FALLORIZING: Warm comfy sweatshirt with a pair of distressed jean shorts. Add a pair of cute boots or tights on cooler days. I also wrapped a shirt around my waist. I did this for two reasons. One I'm getting older and need to cover my behind! Second I just love the look! It's so 90s and I'm a true nineties kid! This look is trending again. ENJOY!

As you can see I am doing my best to hold on to the last bit of summer. This a fun transitional outfit for those warm fall days. This season designers are really big on adding that pop of color. Well I've been saying it for years. It's called FALLORIZING! Yes, I made up that term up but it fits the idea. The idea is to expand your wardrobe by mixing your summer pieces with your fall pieces. This helps bet the cold weather blues! Examples on the way! Peace OUT... What a beautiful day! Being kissed by heaven through the sun rays...I love the transition into fall! It's not too hot yet not too cold. But of course in Chicago the weather changes within minutes! This outfit is great for this time of year because it keeps you cool and warm at the same time! Give it up for convenience...WOOT WOOT! Shorts and a sweater is my fall go to outfit. Add some wedges or booties and your look becomes elevated. More pictures to come! Peace OUT... From the big chop, leaving Taren with only two inches of hair, to the beautiful long tresses she rocks today! Fierce! Natural hair is so beautiful. Peace OUT... Have you heard about World Ventures yet? Well let me introduce you! Visit my other website for more details: www.thatgirljamika.worldventures.biz Wow! What an amazing interview from an amazing woman. Taren Guy is a phenomenal YouTube vlogger with over 16 million views worldwide! Her vlogs take you through a journey of her natural hair process. As she documents her own experience, her journey is one of delight and inspiration. Currently Ms. Guy is hosting her "Luv & Learn Your Hair" Tour. Traveling 12 cities nationwide in which my hometown Chicago was on the list. During hair time in Chicago I was blessed with the opportunity to sit down and talk to Taren Guy for a one on one interview. Catch Part 1 of the interview below: FEbyJB: So have you ever been to Chicago? TG: No. This is my fist time. FEbyJB: This is your first time here?
Yea. And I'm like oh I'm from New York it's like a mini New York a little bit. Yea it has that vibe!
Wow so are you going to stay for a little bit longer or do you have to leave?
No, I'm leaving tomorrow morning.
What's the next stop on the tour?
Houston
What inspired you to start vlogging about your natural hair?
It was just my natural curiosity about my natural hair and I like connecting with people. So just connecting and sharing and wanting to know. I think all of that mixed together is what kind of created videos.
Ok awesome! So do you have like a background or certification in hairstyling or anything?
Absolutely not! No no, I have a social worker degree. With that I took a little bit of media art in college. Was a makeup artist when I graduated. Didn't even dip and dabble in the social (worker field). So, no, I had absolutely nothing to do with hair.
Amazing! Now I've watched your videos and saw when you started off with your BIG CHOP and it was very short. For you, and I know you talk about learning your own type of hair, how long did it take for your hair to get where it is now? How long was that process?
Two years! Yes, July 2011 is when I chopped all the damaged hair off to two inches and now it's this long, however many inches it is right now!
Beautiful! Now in 2011, is that when you started vlogging?
Oh no! I started vlogging in 2009 but I was already natural it was just damaged because I flat ironed so much. So I was trying to get my curls back. They were a little limp and I was like I don't this. Let me just start all over! Stay tuned for Part 2 of the interview with Taren Guy! Peace OUT... Have ever wore an outfit you loved so much, that you wanted to wear it until everyone saw you in it? Yea, that was me last night! Looking like a bag of MONEY! Peace OUT... |
