I am feeling the need to do a black and brown challenge. I was talking with a friend last week and as we were discussing an outfit the topic of, Does black and brown match? My answer of course is YES! But many still see it as a taboo. Like mixing gold and silver. Why is it a taboo? Basically they are two colors mostly used to balance out an outfit. Black boots, black bag. Brown boots, brown bag. But remember the rule of thumb black goes with everything. Everything? Everything! Well now I feel the need to show black and brown off as the perfect pair! Check me out... I got this cream jacket many years ago from Old Navy. I love when I get to wear it! I try not to wear it often, as I have a problem keeping whites and lights spot free. I thrifted these puppies this week at my local thrift shop. I thought they were kind of cute. Reminded me of ballet shoes.

Sooooo, my obsession with the return of 90s fashion has lead me to believe that the return of true R&B is on the rise! As I listen to the collaborations of hip-hop and r&b artists, I'm hearing more and more r&b artists in rotation on the radio. Currently I'm in LOVE with Sevyn Streeter's single, "It Won't Stop" ft. Chris Brown. Streeter's voice is so beautiful added by the smooth urban beat makes this a hit for those quiet storms. I'm also feeling Janelle Monae new single, "Primetime" ft. Miguel. This song gives me life! Talk about a quiet storm. (Fanning myself. Deep pause. And breathe.) Moving on, I'm also enjoying K.Michelle's hit, "V.S.O.P." As the new comers are making a scene, our favorites are on the comeback. Omarion new single, "Know You Better" gives me LIFE! (If I start talking about this song I'll have another episode. Click on the link to see for yourself.) Also Mister R&B himself is back, R. Kelly. I love music but it's nothing like some good ole r&b to set the mode. Peace OUT... Sevyn Streeter K. Michelle Janelle Monae Omarion Everyone has there opinion about Beyonce performance. So here's my two cents. HATED IT! Yes, I said it. It was not horrible but it didn't make me jump and scream. I think we, the fans, were waiting for this amazing performance for this amazing song, that we love so dearly, and was highly disappointed. There were no dancers, no dance routine, no je ne sais I just love these women! Phylicia Rashad and Debbie Allen are two beautiful sisters with a list of accomplishments miles long. There presence demands attention when they come into a room. I love there sisterly bond. It's amazing! Did you know while they were young girls growing up in Houston, Texas there family moved to Mexico? Yes! That is way they speak fluent Spanish. I use to love when "Claire" on The Cosby Show would speak in Spanish. She was the reason I studied aboard in Guadalajara, Mexico for a summer. She had me in love with the language. And to see a beautiful black woman speak it so fluently was amazing to me. Here are a few pictures of the beautiful, talented and stylish duo! Check out their style. One word FABULOUS! This picture here is soooooo beautiful. It's breath taking! The dresses they are wearing are perfect. The hair, the natural beauty, the innocence in the eyes all create the perfect scene. I am now on a hunt for these dresses. Vintage at its finest! Hey Debbie has my cut! Or do I have Debbie's cut? Hey, Hey, Hey! Ok so this spring tea-length skirts and dresses will be huge this season. I thrifted my mint green sweater tea-length skirt a couple of weeks at a local thrift shop. I love this skirt! And this length is perfect. It's so 50's! A fun era for fashion. I'll surly thrift more! Peace Out... Kimmy is doing her thang! Happy 2014 Dolls and Gents! I am so grateful I made it to see this year. So many people did not, so I feel blessed. On New Year's Eve the hubby celebrated by going to see a comedy show at the Arie Crown Theater. It was nice but not as nice as my outfit! :) hehehehe Check me OUT... The gold sheath top (Unknown) and the satin red skirt (Express) were thrifted about a year ago. The nude platform heel (Guess) were from Burlington Coat Factory. I chose to mix rose gold, gold, and sliver accessories with a light touch, just for fun! My multi-tonen metallic clutch is a vintage piece from my grandma. Peace OUT...
